Who should take this?

Men with premature ejaculation who aren’t relieved with Sertraline alone, who may also have erectile dysfunction contributing to sexual dysfunction, frustration and relationship anxiety. This sublingual tablet can be taken 2-4 hours before sexual activity.

Who should not take this?

Sertraline (sublingual tablets)

You should not take sertraline if you:

  • take a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (e.g., antibiotic linezolid)
  • have taken an MAOI within 2 weeks of stopping sertraline unless directed to do so by your healthcare provider
  • have stopped taking an MAOI in the last 2 weeks unless directed to do so by your healthcare provider
  • take any other medicines that contain sertraline (e.g., sertraline HCl or sertraline hydrochloride)
  • take the antipsychotic medicine pimozide (Orap®) as this can cause serious heart problems
  • are allergic to sertraline or any of the ingredients in sertraline
  • take Antabuse® (disulfiram)
  • have liver problems
  • have heart problems
  • have bipolar disorder or mania
  • have kidney problems
  • have had seizures or convulsions
  • have low sodium levels in your blood
  • have a history of a stroke
  • have high blood pressure
  • have had bleeding problems

Benzocaine/Lidocaine/Tetracaine (cream)

Anyone with a known allergy to any of the ingredients should not use Benzocaine/Lidocaine/Tetracaine. Tell your doctor if you’re taking other local anaesthetics. Also, you should not take this compounded cream if you:

  • don’t have the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in your blood (G6PD deficiency)
  • have methemoglobinemia (red blood cell disorder)
  • have anemia
  • are taking medications that can cause anaemia or methemoglobinemia
  • are taking medication to treat an irregular heartbeat, like amiodarone
  • have atopic dermatitis (eczema) on your penis or genital area
  • have broken skin, sores, or open wounds on your penis

Note: Methemoglobinuria may occur when using local anaesthetics concurrent with the use of: Nitrates/Nitrites, Antineoplastic agents, Antibiotics, Chloroquine/primaquine or Anticonvulsants. Caution should be exercised in patients receiving: Reserpine, Verapamil, Digitalis, or Haloperidol.

Unusual and Uncommon Side Effects

Sertraline - Side effects from taking sertraline close in time to an MAOI are serious or even life threatening, including:

  • high fever
  • rapid changes in heart rate or blood pressure
  • uncontrolled muscle spasms
  • confusion
  • stiff muscles
  • loss of consciousness (pass out)

The most common side effects include:

  • nausea or loss of appetite
  • diarrhea or indigestion
  • increased sweating
  • tremor or shaking
  • agitation
  • change in sleep habits including increased sleepiness or insomnia
  • sexual problems including decreased libido and ejaculation failure
  • feeling tired or fatigued
  • anxiety

Benzocaine/Lidocaine/Tetracaine - This compounded cream should improve sex if it’s used properly and if it works to treat your premature ejaculation. It shouldn’t have negative effects, if you don’t use too much or leave it on too long. Excessive numbing may occur with over application of cream. Uncommon side effects include itchiness, redness, burning sensation, lightening of your skin, or a warm sensation. The following side effects are rare:

  • Slow or shallow breathing
  • Pale, bluish skin around the mouth and lips
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • A fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  • Mood changes, like confusion or nervousness
  • Seizures
  • Severe drowsiness
  • Blisters on the skin on the penis
